Gobblet Tutorial

Needed

Two players; Gobblet Game

Setup

Each player will choose a color of gobblets to play with. Each player will have 12 gobblets.

The gobblets are four different sizes that stack together into three stacks. These three stacks are arranged in front of each player to setup the game. The outermost gobblet in a stack is the external gobblet.

Objective

The object of the game is to be the first player with four gobblets in a row. The row of four can be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal.

Game Play

Players will take turns making one move at a time. A move can be made in one of the following ways:

  1. By placing an external gobblet on the board

  2. Moving a gobblet already on the board to a different space

  3. By gobbling up a smaller gobblet on the board with a bigger gobblet already on the board.

Winning

The first player to get four gobblets in a row wins the game!

Rules

A bigger gobblet can gobble up any smaller gobblet. It doesn't have to be just one size smaller.

When an opponent has three gobblets in a row, a player is allowed to gobble up one of the three gobblets with an external gobblet.

Once a gobblet is touched on the board, the gobblet has to be moved.

The game is a tie if three repetitions of identical moves between players occur.
